Do you cradle baby on your left or right arm? If you answered 'right' you are more likely to be suffering from stress than your left-arm cradling friends.
This according to a recent study by British researchers. We thought cradling on the left or right had to do left or righthandedness. But apparently this is not the case.
According to the article in The Daily Mail, most parents cradle on the left hand side whether they are left or righthanded.
The study included 79 new mothers in their own homes. The mothers were asked to pick up their babies and cradle them in their arms naturally, and asked about their mental state.

I cradle on both sides equally so I can empty both breasts.

maybe if you are right handed and holding baby with right hand you are not participating in other normal life activities since your free hand is incompetent.

I agree with juliee!
Most people are right handed, so they cradle in their left hand to keep their right hand free.
Duh!
Maybe this study shows that more left handed people are depressed.

Supapfunk - the study said most people cradle with their left hand REGARDLESS of whether they are left handed or right handed.

I was a lefthanded cradler...the right side just never felt right to me. I didn't experience any depression or stress post-partum.
