Survey: Kid Nation on CBS

40 kids for 40 days with no grownups. The premier is still weeks away (Sept. 19), but controversy (possible labor law violations, on-set injuries, draconian parental releases) is already brewing over CBS's latest foray into reality tv programming: Kid Nation. In a modern take on Lord of the Flies, children, aged 8-15, are left to their own devices to build a functioning society by running an abandoned ghost town in New Mexico. We must admit the trailers are intriguing so we're wondering - will you watch? Why or why not?

I'll watch because it would have thrilled me as a kid. It doesn't seem "Lord of the Flies." Given there are professional camera crews and probably a whole host of emergency adults and producers nearby, this lacks that thrown to the wolves scenario. The kids have adults to observe and interact with (interviews, etc.).

Kids have such a heroic spirit. They're always ready for an adventure. I'd love to see what they get up to here.

I won't watch because I recently (yesterday) cancelled cable. However, I would watch it were I still in a cable-kind-of-way because like Lady J, this sort of adventure would have thrilled me when I was a kid.

The trailer had me all teary-eyed. This looks like great tv-and I hate most reality shows.

Looking forward to it! It looks like an interesting way of viewing society - the children are heartwarming. I'm hooked from the trailer.
