Favorite other nursery from the contest:
If I truly assess the other nurseries using your exact rules/criteria for submission, my favorite other entry is #18: "Joseph's Lantern Festival". I love everything about it - the beautiful color on the walls, the punchy lanterns, the playful artwork above the crib, and the stately yet folksy rocking chair. It's a fantastic mix of eclectic pieces. Overall, I like the simplicity of the room and the sense of calm it evokes. It's child-like yet sophisticated.

Next on the nursery to-do list:
I actually have several things left on my list. One is to find something suitable for the wall above the crib. You will see from one of the new photos that it is a pretty large "hole" that's begging to be filled. I'd love to find a funky/simple mirror to make the room look larger but have the obvious reservations re: safety. I am also thinking about a simple canvas with a few solitary birds stenciled on to it to tie into wall mural. Also, I'd like to find a cool panel of fabric for curtains to enable us to darken the room during the day. Finally, I'd like a tall, narrow, & unobtrusive bookcase that I can tuck by crib/window for additional storage (toys, books, games, etc.).
For above the crib...an idea stolen from a friend. Mount the actual bird stencil you used for the mural. Frame it with a wide mat and put a beautiful piece of fabric behind it to highlight the sillouette. You can mount it high enough to prevent the little one from reaching it, or screw it directly into the wall.
Love the room. It's really very beautiful and serene.

Very sweet!!!
My oldest brother has the teddy bear on the chair in the first photo. We always jokingly called it the bear with bad posture! Brings back good memories!

Love the walls and stencils. May I ask what paint/color you used - it's fabulous!
